 Collect RS232 Wedge Interface Software
Collect’s RS232 wedge interface is a quick easy-to-use, solution for capturing data from any RS232 instrument or serial device into data files or into any Windows application.
Beginning Data Collection
Starting data collection is simple with the Collect software wedge. To begin, you select the main Collect screen and double-click on a method. The method contains your instrument settings as well as the location where you want to send the incoming data to.
When the method is launched, the data destination file is also launched so that data can immediately be collected. With the software wedge, you are not restricted to collecting data to your specified data destination - you can browse to other saved files or create new files and collect data to these new locations.
Set up is easy - No programming is required
Or, you don’t even have to specify a data destination. When a method is launched, the Collect toolbar will sit on your desktop and Collect data to any destination that your cursor is located in.
The Collect RS232 wedge places data into Windows applications at the exact position where your cursor is located, as if it was being entered from the keyboard.
Define your Instrument and how data is reported
By using easy-to-setup macros (<Enter>, <Left>, <Tab>, etc.) your cursor movements are controlled by the Collect software automatically so that your cursor is always in position and ready for the next data point.
Wedge Data to Any Program
Data from RS232 instruments or serial devices can be sent to any application running in Windows. The Collect RS232 software wedge has been used for a variety of different applications, including wedging data to programs such as Excel, Word, Access,Oracle, SQL Server database application clients, Notepad, online web pages and more.
