Collecting Data from Multi-Parameter Instruments
Question
Collect to capture pH, Temperature, and Conductivity readings from the SAME instrument? I know that it can capture readings from multiple instruments, but can it capture multiple readings from the same instrument? Thanks!
Answer
he answer to your question is a resounding yes. All of the Collect products utilize a sophisticated parsing process that provides tremendous flexibility in capturing and reporting instrument data.
Where a simple parsing system may only provide one parsing option, the Collect parser is capable of parsing data based on multiple criteria such as numbers, position, delimiters or timeout. This provides the flexibility to extract multiple readings from the same instrument.
For example a pH meter may put out a data string that looks like the following:

The Collect parser, with multiple parsing options, is able to parse any required data elements and present those elements to your application in a meaningful and useable fashion. Using our pH meter as an example, we could choose to extract each of the data components individually and send each one to a separate cell in a spreadsheet.
