Software Development Team Lead/Manager
We are currently looking for highly motivated Software Development Team Lead/Manager.The candidate will lead a team responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining a suite of applications that allow customers to automate laboratory processes. This position is also responsible for interfacing with other teams in the organization in order to ensure an effective delivery of quality products.
The candidate must be a self-starter, able to work well independently in a technical and dynamic environment. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, high sense of ownership and responsibility, work ethic, attitude, integrity and professionalism are a must.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and lead a team of developers working on multiple development projects
- Assist with the review and definition of programming standards and methodology within the programming department, including best practices for design, coding, debugging and unit testing.
- Review and understand customer requirements and specifications.
- Must have the aptitude and experience with profiling, analyzing and optimizing software under development.
- Assist team members to design, code, and test major features and work jointly with other departments to deliver complex changes.
- System integration with 3rd party applications.
- Provide accurate estimates for the effort required for software development activities.
- Work with software testers to ensure good code coverage and performance testing scenarios.
- Research new technology which will allow for continuous improvement in software development.
- Have a track record of well executed software development projects which you were a key, hands-on development resource.
- Have experience in developing the skill sets and careers of other software developers, while providing feedback on their performance within the department.
- Degree in Computer Science
- 10 or more years of experience as a software developer/lead/manager in a product development setting.
- Excellent C# skills in a Microsoft Windows environment, including experience with implementing and deploying web services and ASP.NET. Knowledge of C++ and Javascript is an asset.
- 2+ years experience in developing products for an enterprise web based environment.
- Experience with SQL/Server or Oracle database in schema design and performance tuning.
- Strong skills in object-oriented design, programming, and design patterns.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Product Marketing Manager
As Labtronics Product Marketing Manager, you will play a key role in designing the marketing strategy for Labtronics products. This role includes responsibility for the development of strategic growth plans.In this role you will be responsible for:
- Crafting marketing messages that resonate with the target buyers and influencers.
- Engaging customers, prospects, and internal resources to define market needs, reviewing product concepts, and developing product positioning.
- Defining market opportunities and recommending strategies to differentiate your products.
- Act as a liason with Product Innovation and R&D, during all stages of product development to ensure the smooth flow of information, materials, and communication required for a successful product launch.
- Clearly communicating marketing strategy to Labtronics as a whole.
- 5+ years of software product marketing experience
- Superior intellectual and quantitative analysis abilities to grasp and translate technical capabilities.
- Working knowledge and application of marketing business concepts, procedures, and practices.
- Exceptional communicating skills – both inbound (listening and understanding) and outbound (written and spoken articulation).
- Ability to learn on one’s own, and drive results with minimal supervision.
- Excellent critical thinking skills.
- Very strong understanding and skill on how to communicate using web mediums like website, videos, email newsletters, webinars, blogs, etc.
Account Manager
We are currently looking for highly motivated Account Manager.As an Account Manager, you will be responsible for driving the sales of a complex technical solution to a wide-range of companies including some of the world’s most successful pharmaceutical, petrochemical and food & beverage companies.
Reporting to the Director of Sales, you will play a key role in the growth of Labtronics laboratory automation technologies by identifying, developing, and closing business opportunities. You would work closely with a team of application and product specialists that provide the technical support needed to be successful. Other job responsibilities include:
- Defining and developing strategic account strategies to drive future growth
- Developing business proposals encompassing all aspects of the Nexxis iLAB solution.
- Driving the development, presentation and sales of a value proposition to senior management.
- Negotiating pricing and contractual agreements.
- Identifying and developing strategic alignment with key third party influencers.
- Maintaining thorough knowledge of Labtronics products and services, sales objectives and strategies including pricing and delivery, in order to understand and provide solutions to customer questions.

Project Manager
We are currently looking for highly motivated Technical Project Manager.The candidate will be responsible for managing a wide variety of software development projects and deployment initiatives. They will be able to drive projects to completion, meeting deadlines and budgets while mitigating risks. This position involves interacting directly with new and existing customers as an accomplished project manager. You will assist with developing statements of work during the pre-sales efforts and will be responsible for leading and participating on teams during the execution.
We are looking for a candidate with project management experience who has a strong technical background and has exceptional problem solving and communication skills.
Responsibilities:
- Works collaboratively with departments responsible for on-time and on-budget delivery of cross functional projects, accurately identifying and articulating the tasks required in the form of project plans.
- Assists in the evaluation of opportunities, development of project charters, project management plans as required.
- Makes appropriate, realistic and timely decisions based on consideration of the facts and alternatives.
- Provides project management services, support and lends expertise to a wide variety of projects and project team members.
- Provides excellent service to internal and external clients by discovering and meeting their needs and building, and maintaining positive and effective working relationships.

Applications Support Specialist
Labtronics currently has an opening for an Application Support Specialist within the Professional Services Department. Reporting to the Service and Support Manager, your primary responsibility will be to provide customers with telephone, e-mail and web-based technical support.Summary of essential job responsibilities:
- Learn the technical aspects of Labtronics software such as typical customer use, known issues and possible solutions.
- Provide telephone, e-mail and web-based software technical support.
- Provide a high level of quality to our customers.
- Log all support calls in the call tracking system.
- Minimum of 2 years work experience providing software support services to external clients.
- University degree in Computer Science or Science.
- Previous work experience in a laboratory setting (an asset).
- Strong technical knowledge of Windows operating systems and programs.
- Knowledge of programming and scripting (VB, C, Java, ASP, etc.).
- Knowledge of networks, network security and servers.
- Possess exceptional communication skills – written and verbal.
- Available for shifts of 9:00am – 5:00pm and 12:00pm – 8:00pm.
