Channel Manager

Labtronics is currently recruiting for a Channel Manager to fill a newly created position within our head office.  This position is responsible for developing and maintaining a global distribution network of dealers for our laboratory automation software.

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Increasing market penetration by identifying revenue growth areas within current and new channels.
  • Working with channel partners to adopt and implement sales and marketing strategies at a national level.
  • Identifying strategic sales opportunities with each channel partner and recommend solutions to increase market share.
  • Working with Sales & Marketing teams to develop promotional calendar with channel partners.
  • Working with the Product Management team on integrating new products and line extensions within our channel partners systems.

Ideally you will:

  • Have a University degree in Business, or Marketing.
  • Successfully sold software products, preferably within the laboratory market;
  • Have proven experience in business to business sales and marketing;
  • Be self motivated and entrepreneurial by nature;
  • Be quick thinking with out-side-the-box problem solving skills;
  • Have a strong closing ability, with the drive to succeed and meet sales targets;
  • Have a strong technical knowledge of Windows based operating systems and programs;

Product Marketing Manager

As Labtronics Product Marketing Manager, you will play a key role in designing the marketing strategy for Labtronics products and services. This role includes responsibility for the development of strategic growth plans and management of product portfolios.

In this role you will be responsible for:

  • Engaging customers, prospects and internal resources to define market needs, reviewing product concepts and developing product positioning.
  • Assessing competitive opportunities and recommend differentiated product strategy.
  • Prioritizing and creating market requirement documents to help drive product development strategy.
  • Liaising with Product Innovation and R&D during all stages of product development to ensure the smooth flow of information, materials and communication required for a successful product launch.
  • Developing revenue growth and profit maximization plans.
  • Clearly communicating marketing strategy to senior management and to Labtronics as a whole.
  • Acting as sales, product go-to export for support and training.

Ideally you will possess:

  •  5+ years as a Product Marketing Manager.
  • Experience in the software industry.
  • Superior intellectual and quantitative analysis abilities.
  • Working knowledge and application of marketing business concepts, procedures and practices. 
  • Background in data analysis, market requirement documents, use case development, and competitive analysis.
  • Exceptional communicating skills – both inbound (listening and understanding market feedback) and outbound (written and spoken articulation those requirements through the organization).

Team Lead/Senior Software Developer

We are currently looking for highly motivated Senior Software Developer to lead major development efforts for our award winning products.

This role presents an opportunity to make a real difference in a highly committed software development department.
The candidate must be a self-starter, able to work well independently in a technical and dynamic environment, energetic, dedicated, conscientious, detail oriented and flexible. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, high sense of ownership and responsibility, work ethic, attitude, integrity and professionalism are a must.

The candidate will design, implement, and maintain a suite of scalable server/backend applications comprised of a set of software tools that allow customers to automate both their laboratory processes and data collection. The work involves overall architecture design, database schema and strategy, implementing and integrating software modules with other components of the system, while interfacing with other teams in the organization, ensuring integration and effective delivery of products as a whole.

This candidate will lead a team, and will adhere to an established development process and configuration management process.

Responsibilities:

  • • Lead a team of developers working on multiple development projects.
  • Assist with the review and definition of programming standards and methodology within the programming department, including best practices for design, coding, debugging and unit testing.
  • Review and understand customer requirements and specifications.
  • Must have the aptitude and experience with profiling, analyzing and optimizing software under development.
  • Assist team members to design, code, and test major features and work jointly with other departments to deliver complex changes.
  • System integration with 3rd party applications.
  • Provide accurate estimates for the effort required for software development activities.
  • Work with Software testers to ensure good code coverage and performance testing scenarios.

Educational Requirements:

  • Degree in Computer Science

Position Requirements:

  • 10 or more years of experience as a software developer/leader in a product development setting.
  • Excellent C++/C# skills in a Microsoft Windows environment, including experience with implementing and deploying web services and ASP.NET.
  • 2+ years experience in developing products for an enterprise web based environment. Successful development and deployment of a system supporting 200+ concurrent users.
  • Knowledge regarding Windows security and experience on static code analysis is plus.
  • Experience with SQL/Server or Oracle database in schema design and performance tuning.
  • Strong skills in object-oriented design and programming, design patterns.

Software Tester

Labtronics is currently seeking an experienced Software Tester to join our Quality Control department.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Designing, developing, executing, and evaluating manual and automated tests for functional, system, regression, and performance testing ensuring traceability and coverage.
  • Working closely with the product development team using an established testing methodology to ensure our software products meet our high quality standards.
  • Developing and reviewing of test plans and outlines, which are focused to test and stress the documented functionality of Labtronics applications.
  • Set up and configure test environments, including relevant test data.
  • Identify, log and tracking issues in the defect tracking system.
  • Recording of all test results and report test status as required.
  • Adhere to QA team best practices, processes and methodologies and provide feedback for continuous improvement goals.
  • Working effectively with project team members to resolve quality issues.
  • Working effectively with all QC team members to accomplish shared goals.
  • Mentoring other peers on test and quality processes.

Ideal candidates will have:

  • Candidate must be an experienced software tester with experience in Microsoft technologies.
  • Ability to quickly understand testing requirements based on business issues and data challenges of client's organization and industry.
  • Experience reviewing and editing testing specifications and making recommendations related to proposed solution.
  • Experience in VB/VBA Scripting and Microsoft SQL Server 2005 preferred.

Business Systems Administrator

Labtronics is currently recruiting for a Business Systems Administrator (BSA) who will be responsible for the Labtronics business application infrastructure and its operation at the highest practical level of efficiency and security.


Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:

  • Day-to-day management of Labtronics business systems.
  • Work closely with business managers to gain in-depth understanding of business issues. Identify, analyze and translate business needs into functional specifications and working closely with project teams on the implementation of solutions.
  • Maintain, update and expand standards and procedures for user training, business analysis and reporting.
  • Develop adequate end-user documentation and conduct training on internal business systems for employees.
  • Resolve conflicts and issues of the internal users for business systems.
  • Respond to and resolving access and performance issues.
  • Acting as a part of the Information Technology backup team.

Requirements of this position include:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and strong collaborative customer service skills are a must.
  • College diploma or University degree in Computer Science.
  • Experience working as a Business Systems Administrator, with a focus on internal business systems an asset.
  • Knowledgeable in CRM and information management architecture, workflow and correlating business processes is an asset.
  • Understanding and experience with SQL Server® or Oracle® database management systems.
  • Experience in a Windows® 2003 Active Directory environment an asset.
