Automate Sequence Creation from the CDS Client

Labtronics' Embedded Interface technology gives analysts a menu item in their CDS client that they can click to automatically query LIMS for a list of samples that are scheduled to run for a particular analysis.

LimsLink CDS collects that list and reformats it into a full sequence that is automatically loaded into the CDS.

• Automatically expand LIMS worklists to include standards, blanks, replicates, etc.
• Analysts can review and edit sequences prior to upload to the CDS or upload transparently.

Automated sequence creation eliminates the need to manually create and type sequences into the CDS before analysts start running tests. Errors are eliminated and analysts have more time to run tests, making them more productive.


Configuration Screens Simplify Implementation

LimsLink CDS interfaces use configurable setup screens, rather than custom coding, to identify key parameters for interfacing with a CDS.

The configuration screens have drop-down lists, check boxes and text entry fields that are specific to the CDS used. This ensures that the terminology and selections available are matched with the terminology and functionality of the CDS.

Multiple configurations can be set up and saved to meet the requirements of different workgroups in the lab or for individual analysts.

This high level of configurability speeds up implementation, allowing the laboratory to realize the benefits of the interface sooner.


Integrated with CDS Security and Audit Trail

Access to the LimsLink CDS menu items in the CDS client is controlled by the CDS security system, eliminating the need to logon separately to use the interface.

LimsLink CDS also uses the CDS Audit Trail to track activity such as changes to the setup configuration, connecting to LIMS, selecting worklists, changes to samples, creating sequences and reporting results.

Integrating the interface with the CDS security and audit trail eliminates the need to maintain a separate list of users and passwords, simplifies regulatory compliance and reduces validation requirements.


Use Standard CDS Reporting Procedures

LimsLink CDS captures standard CDS reports electronically, automatically extracts data from the reports and transfers results directly to LIMS. Reports can also be printed or sent to other data management systems (SDMS, ERP, etc.) at the same time as results are sent to LIMS.

This process is completely transparent to the analyst who simply uses their standard CDS reporting procedures.

An added benefit of this approach is that the results of any calculations that are done as part of the reporting process are also available to LIMS.
