Nexxis ST is a web-based application that provides small to medium sized laboratories with an affordable system for storing and tracking their laboratory test results.
Nexxis ST is built on the Nexxis Application Development Platform, which uniquely combines a powerful Application Development Tool for developing laboratory solutions with a scalable Laboratory Platform to deploy, manage and execute the applications.
Users can:
• Log in samples
• Define required tests for the samples
• Define batches of samples
• Assign tests for each batch
• Enter results for tests manually or automatically
• Store results for tests
• Review sample results
Automated Nexxis methods can be integrated with Nexxis ST to control all aspects of an analysis including checking instrument calibration, creating sample lists and collecting data directly from the instruments to the Nexxis ST database.
A Web-Based Solution
The Nexxis Web Client allows laboratories to implement a zero footprint, multi-tier, web-based application that can be accessed by using Microsoft® Internet Explorer®, eliminating the need to install software on the client side. While the Nexxis Web Client manages the user interface, the application logic and data management are handled by the central Nexxis Administrator and Server. This simplifies deployment of Nexxis Applications and reduces the time and effort required to validate the solution in a regulated environment.

Tests
Nexxis ST allows the user to define any number of tests. A test definition can include parameters such as Test Name, Test Description, Results and Units.
Each test can record results for multiple components. For example, results from a GC test may consist of the components methane, pentane, ethanol, etc.
Tests can then be arranged into Groups to simplify the assigning of tests to samples. A test can belong to more one Group. For example, the ‘Drinking Water Group’ could consist of tests for BOD, pH and EC. Instead of assigning each separate test to a sample, you can simply assign a Group of tests.
Samples and Batches
Samples can be logged in and tracked either individually or in batches. A test, a series of tests or a test Group can be assigned to individual samples or to an entire batch of samples. Working with sample batches speeds up data entry.
Test Results
Out of the box, Nexxis ST is set up for manual entry of test results. Simply select a test, select a Sample ID and then enter the results. If the selected sample is part of a batch, results for all of the samples in the batch can be entered at the same time simplifying data entry.
Optionally, data can be collected automatically from an instrument with results being sent directly to the Nexxis ST results database. Automated control over the analysis improves the quality and integrity of the sample data and reduces the amount of management time required to monitor laboratory procedures.
Flexible Reporting Options
Nexxis ST includes a Report Designer that gives end users control over the look and content of their reports. Report Designer’s drag and drop interface gives users the flexibility to re-organize reports for different users, add corporate logos, add signature lines, etc.
Time-consuming reports such as Certificates of Analysis, which may require input from other applications, can be automated to eliminate manual data entry and reduce paper work for laboratory personnel.
Any Nexxis ST report can be created in PDF, HTML, Word and Excel® formats, allowing them to be distributed in the format that meets with laboratory security and end user requirements. Results and reports can be automatically sent to existing database systems or e-mailed to a client.
